1. Printing in Windows: Make sure your printer is on, and set as the default. A single printer can appear on the printer list several times, especially if it has been installed both as a a USB and Wi Fi printer. Old printers still appear in the printer list as well as “virtual” printers such as Fax and PDF.
2. Printing from a tablet or phone: Make sure your printer is on the same WiFi network as your tablet. Some routers set up WiFi networks on both 2,4 and 5 GHz. Make sure you have the correct printing App installed on your phone.
3. Printing web pages and e-mails without all the unwanted bumph: Try the browser extension Print Friendly and PDF:

4. Print to PDF and then mess around with the PDF file. The free tools on this website include editing PDF files and extracting a few pages from a PDF fdile. This is very useful if you have a PDF manual for your device which is in umpteen languages and you only want English.
