This Thursday, January 26th, JCC members are in for a treat – a presentation about satellites from Peter Breger, someone who really knows what he’s talking about! Peter has been involved with the EU’s satellite Earth Observation programme since 2002 and was a senior expert and deputy head of the programme. So he definitely knows a thing or two. This week he’ll be giving us an overview – The history of satellites, how many there are, what they are used for, how they fly around the earth and how high. How did they get there in the first place? What are the different types and how crowded is it up there? I can’t wait to pìck his brains…. and next week he’ll be back again with Part 2: What Earth observation satellites can do for us.
