There seems to have been a “revolution” in the way TV and video content is being delivered: Some satellite channels are no longer available, VPNs don’t work for catchup, Netflix has squeezed more money out of family groups who don’t live in the same house, broadcast TV is full of repeats.
What is the future of broadcast channels when we have YouTube and other streaming services? Is the cinema on its way out? Who needs cinema when we have massive TVs and surround sound at home? (This year’s BAFTA-winning movie was a Netflix production – it played in cinemas for only two weeks before being streamed).
This Thursday, March 2nd we’ll be discussing the impacts of changing technologies on a traditional evening slumped in front of the telly.
