Last Thursday we welcomed Marion Kenworthy and Marianne Von Troil to the Club to receive a donation from our charity fund of 860€ – what a magnificent effort by our intrepid team of ‘recyclers’ who have brought back to life a whole host of different devices for which we collected this huge amount.
Marion and Marianne are part of the team who run Todos Juntos Javea. Our donation came at a very timely moment for the Autismo Association, who have a school in Javea and, were just starting up their Summer School, which allows the children to continue receiving lessons and therapy sessions throughout July and August.
Todos Juntos Javea support the Autismo Association all year round to supplement what the parents are able to provide by way of funding. Our donation this year went towards employing another teacher to assist in the Summer School which caters for 53 children from the age of 3 to 18 years.
Some of the money raised comes from the cake that members buy at the bar – so keep on eating!
