Tech Gadgets and trends in 2025 – will any of these make a splash?

On Thursday. January 2nd we looked at new gadgets slated to be released in 2025 and predicted tech trends.

We watched a few YouTube videos. Two describing “New Gadgets (2025) that you can buy on Amazon”, and one looking at the upcoming Consumer Electronics show exhibition:

Many of these gadgets looked like ideas trying to create a market – Would people fork out hard-earned cash to buy these things? There’s a focus on gaming, Augmented Reality (AR), fitness/ health monitoring gadgets and home decor. They also mentioned chargers and battery packs, a mini PC and a mini mobile professional video camera.

Consumer Electronics show 2025: (See video below) Here’s the blurb:

“CES 2025 is the most exciting tech event of the year, with dozens of innovative gadgets being shown for the first time.

We’ve gathered some of the most interesting technologies we will see at the event (but surely, there will be a lot more innovative gadgets and appliances that will surprise us).

We will see the latest TV models from Samsung, LG, Hisense, and TCL
We will meet innovative laptops, tablets, and the Nvidia and AMD graphic cards for 2025.
We will look at the latest EV and transport innovations, futuristic cars, and more.
We will see new implementations of Artificial Intelligence, which will most likely be the star of the show.
We will also see the latest new smart home gadgets and appliances that could make our lives easier.

We then looked at these articles:

This article looked back at last year: 7 Troubling Tech Trends of 2024 https://www.technewsworld.com/story/7-troubling-tech-trends-of-2024-179510.html noting the: Proliferation of Useless AI Tools, Decline of Digital Privacy, Tech Subscription Fatigue, E-Waste From Unnecessary Upgrades, Dystopian Applications of AI Surveillance, Social Media’s Algorithmic Decline and concludes :

A Call for Responsible Innovation
While technology has the potential to improve lives, 2024 has brought forth trends that emphasize profit, surveillance, and short-term gains over long-term innovation and ethical considerations.

From the glut of useless AI tools to worsening e-waste and dystopian surveillance practices, it’s clear that the tech industry needs a course correction.

Consumers, regulators, and innovators alike must push for responsible, meaningful advancement since ignoring it will allow these trends to define the future of technology.

Hear hear!
