Quantum Computing (Part one of two)

This Thursday, February 6th Peter Breger will explain how computing aids have been shaped by our needs to do arithmetic, mathematics and technology through the ages. In the International Quantum year 2025, we look at how computers have changed throughout history and take a first glimpse at what quantum computers are. But why do we want them when our classical digital computers are already capable of doing more than we need?

In part two on Thursday February 13 we will explore Quantum Computers, how they are built, what is so special about them, and how likely they are to replace computers.
