Did you know that Google changed how we remember? It’s called the “Google Effect” where we don’t remember things we can easily find using a search. Such brain rot is getting worse now that more people are happily using AI. For example, in an MIT study 83.3% of ChatGPT users couldn’t provide a single correct quote from essays they had written just minutes before. That’s not surprising when brain scans showed that their brains hadn’t been doing very much while they were “writing”. This Thursday, February 12 we will look at how AI and social media are changing both the way that we think, and how we see reality (or what we think is reality..!)
