Google abandoned this popular desktop image management app in 2016 to concentrate on developing Google Photos. However Picasa still works (to a degree) and is available for Windows and iMac PCs. Many JCC members store photos on their PCs, and Chris thinks that Picasa remains an excellent tool for organising, cataloguing and tweaking photos. (Show me a better one that’s as fast and as easy to use! ) Although you cannot directly upload images from Picasa to Google photos, there is an easy work around so that users can get the best of both worlds. This Thursday 19th May, we take a fresh look at Picasa and discuss how it compares with more modern apps such as Google Photos and Windows Photos.
